The Joliet Brewers Guild was founded in 2012 by Joel Rakoski, and our first meeting was held on March 13, 2013. We began with 13 members and have been growing ever since. We currently have meetings every 2nd Wednesday of the month at the Chicago Street Pub located at 75 N Chicago Street in Joliet.

Our third year is going great! We have acquired a 60 gallon red wine barrel and brewed a nice big belgian quad to age in it. Our members have won medals in multiple homebrew competitions. We have also been involved with and shared beer at multiple festivals this year including Morel fest in ottawa, il and our largest fest of the year - HopString just wrapped up and it was a huge success.

The purpose of our club is comprised of the following:

  • To have monthly meetings where brewers and brewers-to-be can get together to share homebrew, recipes tips and advice with each other
  • To have presentations about all things related to beer and brewing
  • To have contests both in-house and outside of our club and to encourage our members to become BJCP certified
  • To organize special events for our members, such as brew days, cookouts, pub crawls, etc.
  • To coordinate group buys of ingredients and equipment to save costs
  • To get various discounts for being a JBG member
  • To rule the Joliet homebreing area with an iron fist!
